Long Time No Update
Wow, sorry for the long pause in between entries folks. I had a lot of stuff going on and was
waiting for the new site design to kick in before doing this, but we'll save that for next time.
- Another thing we'll be saving for next time is the promised Tips/Tricks for creating some moosik,
as I firmly believe it'd work out best with the new design.
What IS there to talk about though? What could I possibly have been up too? I thought you'd never
ask!
A few weeks ago BreakoutBeatz.com featured a good friend of mine - DJ Einstein! - which is cool enough, but where the story
gets interesting is how I got to meet-up with the man IRL and hang for a night! Being the NASA man that he is Einstein's
government "side-job" pushed him down towards the coast to link-up a school with the International Space Station. (How cool of
an opportunity is it to be able to write something like that? Very cool - I think.) I jabbed him on the Twitter and mentioned he'd
only be about an hour or so away from where I lived. Wouldn't you know it? This dude's got enough cool coming out his ears he
offered to drive in a way's and meet up with me to hang for a bit. (Sweet is the first word that comes to my mind.) After some
careful GPS tracking and several U-Turns later, I managed to meet up with him at The Block in Orange. Great place, I've only
been there once or twice for a birthday party or movie or something because I live about 20min. away across the Toll Road.
Night went great! Handed off a demo CD I
had on hand, and he gave me a bunch of
NASA goodies (Stickers, Pin, Spacey Infoz,
and promise of a copy of his CD!). We
wandered about the Block for a good half
hour, into a Dave & Busters where we
marveled at a Ski Ball machine & back
outside to a tight little store filled with comic
and videogame figurines. We ate over at a
Carls Jr. around 11pm and talked shop until
the cows came home. He's so much fun to
hang out with - and his music is pretty darn
sweet too!
That was a fun weekend, maybe JUST as
fun as Superbowl Sunday (which I'll get to
here in just a bit) but its hard to decide on
which could have possibly been better.
So next week was filled with a few different things that went on.
Thing 1 was that I finally got a chance to catch up with someone from AllFurRadio.com to work with me on getting things squared away and getting me on the air -
something I've been waiting on for a while now. Once I'm on the air, I'll be sure to let everyone here know because I hope to be able to break a few tracks
belonging to artists & dj's featured here on the site for AFR's listeners.
Thing 2 was that I had a dream about being able to fly for the first time in a long time. Seeing as I couldn't make anything out of it though, I did the next best thing
and decided to start my own FREE Net-Label with no plan what-so-ever. Made a site, hopped onto several other social networking outlets, put together a Promo.
and set about telling everyone about the label and asking artists from all around about contributing to its first album. The name of the label? Dancing Furries! In
just 1 week we had over 20+ submissions - most of which are now prepped for release. We had such a rush, I quickly had to tell everyone any additional
submissions would be considered for our NEXT release, and my E-Mail list quickly died again, (thank god) giving me time to get back to my own life. I'll be sure to
update about the label in the future as well.
SO we end with Superbowl Sunday!
It was a great day wasn't it? Especially if you were a half-asleep 22yr old DJ wearing rabbit ears who spent the night at a friends place. A friend who works for
Disneyland, who offered to invite a sleepy "just-woke-up" me along for the ride to Disney for the day. I COULD NOT PASS IT UP! So, Sunday for me was spent at
the happiest place on earth, until 11:45pm - riding just about every ride you could see, and watching 2 parades (both of which were rather cool!). For anyone who
has never been - you need to at least once in your life. I have not had so much fun with a group of my friends in a very long time.

Oh, and someone won a football game. *shrugs*
HTID folks! Until next time!
